.; <br />.~ <br />~~ <br /> <br />Division Response -The Bennett Sand & Gravel Pit #2 will be a "dry" pit with no groundwater <br />used or exposed to the surface during mining and reclamation. The operator will install a bermed <br />and lined fuel storage area for petroleum products that will be stored on site. The storage area <br />will be outside the 100-year floodplain of Kiowa Creek and approximately 50 feet above the <br />groundwater surface. <br />3. "Will the operation adversely affect wildife, specifrcal[y deer, attd the roosting bald eagles?" <br />(Rule 6.4.8(1)) <br />"Some of ortr concerns regard the wild life drat is itt the area ... the deer that come up <br />frarr dre creek ... mtd the bald eagles that roost in dre trees. Wl>.y should all the wild life <br />be disturbed or rim off because of this operation?" (Anderson, 6/30/01) <br />Division Response -The applicant has provided a Wildlife Impact Statement from the Colorado <br />Division of Wildlife. There was no evidence of any possible adverse impact to wildlife. Also, <br />the applicant has provided an adequate reclamation plan to reestablish revegetation via a grass <br />cover. <br />
