Conttihuton CMLRB 113 Permit Apptieatlon
A~IIe Slone Syatotu, Inc.
Rule 6.4.6(a) requires that the Reclamation Plan Map must show proposed
topography of the area with contour lines of sufficient detail to portray the
direction and rate of slope of all reclaimed lands. Your maps show only the
extraction azeas. Provide a map that shows all of the affected reclaimed land
including roads, railroads, bridges, buildings, processing areas, erosion/sediment
control azeas, product storage azeas, topsoil overburden storage areas etc. The
map should be of sufficient scale to show the contour lines cleazly.
Digitized topographical maps were purchased of the permit area. The
permit area was also flown and photographed with ground survey control
points so that 2' contour lines could be established to provide the requested
detail.
EXHIBIT G -Water Information
Are there any water wells on adjacent lands that may be affected by your
proposed mining operation including blasting in the quarries and pumping process
water from aquifers that may also supply other wells in the vicinity? Please
provide a list of wells within 600 feet of the permit area and their exact location.
There are no water wells on adjacent lands that will be affected by the
proposed mining operations including blasting in the quarries and any
consumptive water use obtained for the project. Water will be pumped from
the Arkansas River. Since a portion of any water used will infiltrate the
gravel, the project will cause a minimal increase in water supplies in the
project area. No impact south of the Arkansas River will be caused due to
the constant head nature of the River and distance to any known wells. The
project area is isolated. Surface water is retained within the project area.
Ground water is retained within and in close prozimity to the project area.
No outwash or bedrock aquifer impacts any wells south of the Arkansas
River.
All wells and springs within 1'/: miles were tested if: owners granted -
permission, the water source was adjudicated and the water source could be
tested. Results are contained in Ezhibit G. The State Engineer's Office was
contacted 8/97 concerning the 600' distance. The applicant was told that the
600' distance only applies if open water is planned for the project and that
the 600' would only apply from the open water to any nearby wells.
Regardless, there is only 1 welUspring outside the permit area that is within
600' of the affected land boundary which is on the Brown property. The
hydrologist evaluating the project surface and ground waters eapects the
project to provide a positive impact of this welUspring. However, any water
right enforcement by state officials concerning ditch/flood irrigation 1,000'
19
