- 2-
~~
2, (a.) The shaft collar excavation will be approximately
18 feet in diameter and 10-20 feet deep dependent upon
depth to competent rock. The yardage to be removed will
be about 95-190 yards3,
(b.) This material will be spread evenly over the
immediate shaft site area to be fenced. The depth of the
material will be approximately six to 12 inches. The
material will be covered with gravel as no combustible
materials are permissible near an air shaft.
(c.) Soil and subsoil analysis information is contained
within Exhibit II, Volume II, of the final permit application.
CFF,I has found no toxic or acid forming soils or overburden
within the boundaries of the Allen Mine, nor has any water
monitoring indicated an environmental problem with soil or
overburden.
3. (a.) CFF,I does not plan to remove the above ground portion
of the shaft collar. The retention of the shaft collar is
desirable in that it will aid in a safer and more cost effect-
ive bulkhead installation at the time of shaft abandonment. As
CFFiI owns this property and the shaft site is well hidden from
• public view, there should be no environmental objections to its
being left intact.
- Subsoil material not suitable for reclamation work, gravel,
and concrete footing refuse will be removed from the site or
placed in tfie shaft at the Lime of shaft abandonment.
4. (a.) The map submitted in hfiner Revision No. 1 (Map A) is at a
scale of 1" = 500'. CFEI has no other maps of this area except
USGS mapping which is at a scale of 1" = 2000'. Drawing No. 1,
attached, shows the data requested on a scale of 1" = 10' which
may be LLsed in conjunction with A1ap A of the Miner Revision
No. 1 application.
•
-OZ
/~~
