Mr. Richard T. Raines <br />July 31, 2003 <br />The source of replacement water is 3.75 shares of the Rural Ditch from June through <br />August, 34.6 acre-feet of water leased from the St. Vrain & Left Hand Water Conservancy <br />District for April and May, 31.8 acre-feet of storage water from the Varra Pit No. 112 for <br />replacements in September through November and 75.2 acre-feet of water leased from the City <br />of Greeley for November through March. The 31.8 acre-feet of storage water takes into account <br />the evaporation of 1.5 acre-feet of water. <br />The 3.75 shares of the Rural Ditch were historically used to irrigate the four farms listed below: <br />Adler Farm <br />The Adler farm was historically irrigated using 5 shares of the Rural Ditch of which Wetd <br />County owns 1 share. The 5 shares were historically used to irrigate 168 acres of corn and 63 <br />acres of pasture grass, all of which has been taken out of production. The historical <br />consumptive use of the 5 shares was determined to be 209.6 acre-feet. The prorata historical <br />consumptive use for 1 share is 41.9 acre-feet. <br />Gould Farm <br />The Gould farm was historically irrigated using 2 shares of the Rural Ditch of which Weld <br />County owns 1 share. The 2 shares were historically used to irrigate 55 acres of com, all of <br />which has been taken out of production. The historical consumptive use of the 2 shares was <br />determined to be 66.4 acre-feet. The prorata historical consumptive use for 1 share is 33.2 <br />acre-feet. <br />The Villa Proaertv <br />The Villa property was historically irrigated using 1.5 shares of the Rural Ditch owned by <br />Weld County. The 1.5 shares were historically used to irrigate 27 acres of corn and 27 acres of <br />pasture grass, all of which has been taken out of production. The historical consumptive use of <br />the 1.5 shares was determined to be 61.7 acre-feet. <br />Slovek Property <br />The Slovek property was historically irrigated using 1 share of the Rural Ditch of which <br />Weld County owns 0.25 shares. The 1 share was historically used to irrigate 30 acres of corn <br />and 30 acres of pasture grass, all of which has been taken out of production. The historical <br />consumptive use of the 1 share was determined to be 50.5 acre-feet. The prorata historical <br />----consumptiue_us~y for__0.25-shares is 12.6 arre-feet <br />A monthly breakdown of depletions and replacements is shown on the attached Table <br />Nos. 1 and 2 that were submitted with your report. <br />
