EXHIBIT E - RECLAMATION PLAN
TYPE OF RECLAMATION
Using a Caterpillar D-7, or other appropriate e~,uipment,
the waste dump will be pushed up and graded into the hillside
to the west of the drainage (see Exhibit C), extending the
foot of the hillside farther to the south at its natural slope
angle. Surface buildings will be removed sad ventholes and
portals closed as dictated by the E.R.D.A. lease agreement.
The ore pad and area of surface operations will then be graded.
Stockpiled topsoil will be spread over the areas where it will
be most beneficial - in the less sloping areas where it will
not be washed away easily. (See Exhibit A for acreage involved.
LAND USE
The LP-21 area is zoned agricultural-open by the Montrose
County Planning Department, permitting mining operations as a
use by right. At present the use is multiple-purpose: mtn? ~,
wildlife habitat, and winter rangeland. In the foreseeable
future, postmtn~ land use will be the same.
RECLAMATION PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Grading•
• Grading will be carried on so as to create a final topo-
graphy appropriate for future mining, wildlife habitat, and
use as winter rangeland. Slopes will approximate a 2:1 grade
and will not exceed the natural angle of repose of the waste
material. Backfilling and grading will be completed as soon~as
feasible after the m{ni ~ process which is currently projected
to be fifteen to twenty years from now. All refuse will be
hauled away from the mine site.
Drill sites will be plugged with.a Bureau of Land Manage-
ment approved device. Cuttings piles will be buried and/or
spread thin and revegetated. Adits and shafts will be sealed
permanantly providing conditions stipulated in the lease agree-
ment are satisfied.
Water:
Because this mine will not disturb the prevailing hydrologic
balance of the affected land, statements in this section are not
applicable.
Wildlife:
. Recommendations for reclamation of wildlife habitat were,
"Develop water for wildlife where possible and revegetate portal
and drill sites with native vegetation". (see Exhibit H) Al-
though water development is not applicable to this mine, portal
and drill sites will be revegetated with a combination of -native
and introduced species.
