EXfiIBIT D - MINING PLAN
Preliminary exploration drilling has outlined several
ore horizons spread throughout the lease area at various
depths. To mine these ore horizons from one entryway, a
decline is being driven 1800 feet at 15.596 from the hori-
zontal. As of August 31, 1977 this decline has advanced
a slope distance of 1400 feet and is expected to bottom out
by the end of October 1977. The entryway is 9 feet high
by 11 feet wide inside of timber and will be driven by
conventional drill-blast techniques. The mobile rock
moving equipment will be 2 yard front end loaders and 10
ton trucks which are diesel powered and rubber tired.
Rock-support will be provided-by conventional timbering
and rock bolting"in conjunction with shot-Crete.
• After the incline is complete, the underground station
is installed, and a ventilation raise is upreamed, develop-
ment drifting will commence toward the ore horizons. The
direction and grade of the drifts are shown on the develop=
went map, along with the projected yearly completion
schedule. These development drifts are to be driven with the
same equipment and techniques used in sinking the decline.
When drift development has progressed past stoping areas,
stope development and mining will begin. A~modified room and
pillar stoping method will be used to mine the ore. This
stoping method is similar to the one presently used in the
Uravan Mineral Belt, i.e. split shooting is used in con~unc-
. tion with leaving waste pillars and ore pillars wherever
necessary for roof support. The equipment and methods des-
cribed in the development phase will be utilized in the
mining phase.
i
