I wil <br />address the items in the same order you presented them. <br />I) Exhibit t`D" Mining Plan 6.4.4 <br />A) All topsoil will be properly salvaged and protected for use in reclamation. It should be <br />remembered that there is no topsoil on the pit (arroyo) floor to be salvaged or replaced. <br />' B) Water - It is correct that no water is required for this operation. The sand screening and <br />washing plant are adjacent to this operation, and the owner has purchased a State Water <br />Right for the water necessary for the wash pant. [t is in the amount of 3 acre feet and the <br />activity is monitored by the Water Commissioner for that Division and has been judged <br />adequate for augmentation. The settling pond is used as both a recharge for the aquifer and <br />a settling pond. The Mining Plan Map states "sand will be washed back into excavated areas <br />and then mined again. This has been the mode of operation for this mines operation. <br />"Your Brand of People" <br />
