4 - 33
• Records of all observations, surveys, methods and routes will be standardized to the extent
possible to enable establishment of long-term trends and comparison of data sets. All species
of wildlife noted during observation and surveys will be recorded. Records of observations will
include but not be limited to : species, number, where noted, location, habitat, and activity.
Notes on weather, survey data and time periods, routes and goals will also be noted. Results of
surveys will be provided annually.
RECLAMATION
Reclamation plans are described in section 3.0 of the Mine Plan. Actual disturbed area
requiring surface reclamation is limited, and calls for re-establishment of existing vegetation
communities in disturbed areas. Improvement and enhancement of wildlife resources will be
accomplished through revegetation with plant species of value to wildlife as a food source. Due
to the limited area involved it is unlikely that enhancement will be of a degree that can be
measured or documented to any degree of significance. Major habitat types will be
reestablished as they currently exist in the area. While undesirable plant species will not be
• included within the reclamation program it is unrealistic to assume that these types of species
will not invade the reclaimed areas eventually. Control of the permit area during reclamation will
be maintained to allow the maximum increased use of the reclaimed mine property by area
wildlife. Prior to reclamation and abandonment of the mine site, game and non-game
management personnel of the Colorado Division of Wildlife will be solicited to provide
suggestions and input above and beyond the planned reclamation program to facilitate the
long-term enhancement of wildlife resources of the McClane Canyon area.

M~ Volume 1 4 - 29 - 96
