The mining plan states that a minimum of 12 inches of topsoil
will be stockpiled for replacement during reclamation. The
reclamation plan states there is between 7 to 12 inches
available. Please clarify this by committing to replace a
minimum of 12 inches of topsoil during reclamation.
13. Rule 3.1.(7) requires the slopes of a pond or lake to be no
steeper than 3:1 from five feet above to ten feet below the
expected water line. Please state the operator's commitment
to regrade all slopes to no steeper than 3:1.
Thank you for your reply to the comment letter from the Natural
Resources Conservation Service. The Division is in agreement with
your commitments regarding their reclamation concerns.
Rule 1.8.1 states that changes and additions to the permit
application must be filed with the Division and with the County
Clerk and Recorder. The applicant must also provide the Division
with an affidavit or receipt demonstrating that the change or
addition was filed with the County Clerk and Recorder no later than
the close of business on the day the change was filed with the
Division.
Please call me if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
~~ ~
Gary Curtiss
Environmental Protection Specialist
Z~UV~. u~
cc:Carl Mount, DMG
C\WP51\96052ADQ.LTR
