Syracuse Way, Suite 217
Denver, Colorado 80231
Re: C. Ryan & Son, Inc.
File No. 83-139
Dear Ms. Hirsh:
We have reviewed your adequacy response letter of February 12, 1985.
Everything appears to be in order except for the items addressed below.
Please pay particular attention to the discussion under "Exhibit M -Local
Government Approval". If, after reviewing this letter, you believe a
continuance of Board consideration is warranted, please submit a written
request. If, however, you believe a continuance is not warranted, please
respond to the following concerns as soon prior to the February 27 - 28, 1985
meeting as possible.
Exhibit C - Maps
As addressed in our adequacy letter of January 17, 1985, "...if there is a
change in plant location or mining sequence due to County concerns, please
submit updated maps." Condition #1 of Jefferson County approval dated
February 4, 1985 is that mining in "...five-acre tracts will begin in
succession starting on the west side of the property." Sheet 2 of 7 of the
;~ ~ Mining Plan depicts mining commencing from the east and progressing to t
~`~' ~,~5 west. Due to the changes mandated by Jefferson County, please submit three
new sets of maps depicting the new five-acre mining sequence commencing from
the west. Also, please submit new text for Exhibit D - Mining Plan and, if
cessary, new text for Exhibit E -Reclamation Plan.
Exhibit L - Reclamation Posts
We agree with the theory behind your new reclamation costs and the actual
costs presented. We have compared the current costs against previous cost
presentations and believe everything is in order except we are unable to
locate costs for the 4-acre stockpile areas. If these costs are already
presented, please define where these costs are. If, however, none were
presented, please submit scarification and topsoiling costs for the stockpile
areas.
423 Centennial Building, 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 Tel.
