• total settleable solids and pH. On a quarterly basis, water samples will be <br />analyzed for iron, manganese, pH, specific conductivity, sulfate, total <br />dissolved solids, total suspended solids, and settleable solids. In addition to <br />obtaining the samples, Sun Coal Company will submit annual monitoring reports to <br />CMLRD and will submit NPDES-Discharge Monitoring Reports to the Environmental <br />Protection Agency and the Colorado Department of Health. <br />Existing data suggest the existing water quality, though high in dissolved <br />solids, is suitable for stock watering. Since past mining activities have not <br />adversely affected water supplies in and adjacent to the permit area, alter- <br />native water supplies are not needed to support existing land uses. <br />• <br />- 105 - (Rev. 5/86) <br />
