• 2.10 MAPS AND PLANS
2.10.2 Permit and Adjacent Area
The Mine Plan Map No. 14, shows each of the phases during
which surface coal mining operations will be conducted
underground. The Facilities Maps Nos. 15-1 and Map No.
15-2 show where surface coal mining operations will be
conducted on the surface. The surface facilities are to
be constructed during the last half of 1996 and early
1997.
The Previously Mined Areas Map No. 25, shows the areas
where surface coal mining operations occurred prior to
August 3, 1977. The Farmers Mine (D-2 Seam), King Mine
(B-2 Seam), Kinq Mine (A-Seam), Gelwick Mine (A-Seam) and
Blackburn Mine (A-Seam) and a portion of the Blue Ribbon
Mine were all mined prior to August 3, 1977. The Bowie
No. 1 East Mine, Blue Ribbon Mine and Somerset Mine were
operated after August 3, 1977.
The Previously Disturbed Areas Map No. 26, shows the
• areas where surface coal mining operations occurred prior
to August 3, 1977 on the surface. All of the areas shown
as disturbed were disturbed prior to August 3, 1977.
According to the Cultural Resources Inventory Report
presented in Volume III, Exhibit 2, the Adolph Coors
Company disturbed the Bowie townsite after 1977. The
company also razed the tipple and gravity plane after
1977. However, the total extent of the disturbed area
was probably not significantly increased by the work
performed by Coors after August 3, 1977.
P6P14IS IVPLIGSI09
2.10 - 1 -
