LACHEL -~
ASSOCIATES_ __.- :_
Geccecnnics S Undergrcund Structures
,Id(~i 0~ ~9 r
January 6, 1997
Mr. John Hickman
Western Mobile
1590 West 12th Ave.
Denver. Colorado 80204
Dear Mr. Hickman:

~c~~2 ~=KE<ic
~irllNG ~~rS~o/
RE: Deer Creek Canyon Quarry
Jefferson County, Colorado
~l4r r
frDn
On December 23, 1996, LACHEL & Associates, Inc., Golden, Colorado provided you an
addendum to our initial report titled A Soil and Rock Slooe Stabilitv Evaluation of the Deer
Creek Canvon Quarrv. Subsequent to that addendum please find the following information
regarding bench heights for the subject project.
Using the topographic map that was produced subsequent to the initial report, the
maximum height of Bench 1 is 61 ft at the headwall and 115 ft for the sidewall. The
maximum heights of Benches 2, 3 and 4 are 71 ft, 50 ft and 45 ft respectively. These
heights represent a top of talus to top of bare bedrock face distance. The maximum
heights of Benches 5 and 6 are 7 ft and 12 ft respectively; however, these headwalls have
been reclaimed (i.e. graded and vegetated). The variation in the height of the benches in
no way alters the conclusion of the report that at the time of the field examination, no mass
failures were evident or expected.
We hope that this information clarifies the data in the report and addendum and clears up
any conflicts in the project data.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Regards,
LA HEL 8 Associates, Inc.
ennis'J.
