Banks and Gesso, LLC
to divert water around this site and back to the original drainage course. The
processing/loadout site will be approximately 4 acres in size. Approximately 1.8 M cubic
yards, or 2.6 M tons, of material will be removed to create this site. Estimates indicate
that of the approximately 1.8 M cubic yards, 90,000 cubic yards may be overburden that
cannot be used in asphalt mix designs and 1.71 M cubic yards or 2.6 M tons will be
usable. Rock placed in the temporary waste rock storage are will be processed when a
plant is set up.
The processing/loadout site is designed with a minimum 2% grade for positive drainage
across the site. Surface water from the disturbed areas will be diverted on the south to a
settling basin prior to being released back into the natural drainage system. Appropriate
discharge permits will be obtained.
The combination of ripping and blasting will also be used to construct the
processing/loadout site. Some of the usable materials will be processed on site with a
temporary crushing spread and some material may be removed from the site for
processing elsewhere. The access road and the processing/loadout site will be
completed within the first two years of startup.
10 Year Quarry Plan
The mine plan for the 10-year quarry is shown on Exhibit C-2C: Mine Plan Map.
Concerning bench design, the structural geology study conducted by Dr. Able and
Church and Associates indicates that a safe vertical wall slope of 63.4 degrees should
be maintained on all high walls. The highwalls will not to exceed 50 feet in height at any
given time. The horizontal benches at the bottom of each highwall will be a minimum of
24 feet in width. The configurations for highwalls and benches have been designed to
meet MSHA minimum standards as applied by Dr. Able to this site. Benches are
designed to be continuous and connected so that they can be accessed for any future
maintenance necessary and also to prevent wildlife that may venture onto a bench from
becoming stranded.
Clear Creek District Water Providers, LLC October 25, 2004
MMRR Quarry 9 03047
