<br />EMBRY SERIES <br />Taxonomic Classification: Coarse-loamy, mixed, nonacid, <br />mesic family of Ustic Torriorthents. <br />Setting: Embry soils are on upland fans. They have formed <br />in alluvium from sandstone and shale. Slopes are 3 to 10 <br />percent. <br />General Characteristics: Embry soils are well-drained <br />with moderate permeability and medium runoff. Vegetation <br />is primarily blue grama, western wheatgrass, rabbitbrush <br />and mixed perennial grasses. <br />Range in Characteristics: Textures are sandy loam, loam <br />• and sandy clay loam with 18 to 30 percent clay. Coarse <br />fragments content is 0 to 15 percent fine gravel, generally <br />increasing with depth. Reaction is mildly alkaline to slightly <br />acid with acidity increasing with depth. Depth to bedrock <br />is 50 to 70 inches. <br />Type Location: 825 feet east, 230 feet south of the north <br />quarter corner of Section 22, T31S, R65'd. Pit Plumber 3• <br /> <br />
