The substratum to a depth of 60 inches or <br />more is light brownish gray, pale brown, or light brownish <br />gray gravelly to very gravelly loam, or clay loam. <br />Permeability of the Nihill soil is moderately rapid. Avail- <br />able water capacity is moderately low. Effective rooting <br />depth is 60 inches. Runoff is rapid and the erosion hazard <br />for water is moderate. Wind erosion hazard is medium. <br />• The unit is mainly used for rangeland.
