2002 -17- 003-2203
777 haul trucks traveled over the geomembrane. During fll placement, PVC grade mazkers
were placed at grade breaks and on a maximum 50-foot by 50-foot grid. After DCF placement,
PVC grade markers were removed, and Ames performed any additional grading required.
Ames placed DCF in an uphill direction on any slopes steeper than 4H:1 V.
2.9 Surface Water Diversion System
As part of the Phase Na construction, the southern section of the Phase IV permanent surface
water diversion channel was constructed, as presented in Construction Drawings 8b through 8d
and Record Drawing 1.
The permanent surface water diversion channel consists of approximately 1,400 feet of
trapezoidal channel, 400 feet of 84" CSP, and 540 feet of 42" CSP. The channel section (depth
and width) and grade varies along the channel, depending on location. Along the channel
• length, the channel bottom width varies between 12 and 15 feet, and the depth varies between
3.5 to 5.5 feet, and has 2.SH:1 V side slopes. The surface water channel was designed to safely
control and divert runoff resulting from the 100-yeaz, 24-hour storm event from the contributing
upstream watershed area. The channel was designed to have flow velocities less than 5 feet per
second. Sections of the channel, upstream and downstream of CSP's, were riprapped to control
scour at the CSP entrance and exit.
U
i ~oo~zzosoaoo~c<nn«oeoz~omzzo3 oaoo.oc~aoca.ao< Golder Associates
