2002 -4- 003-2203 <br />• L2.2 CQA/CQC Monitoring of Geosynthetics Installation <br />Golder provided CQA morritoring of geosynthetics used for the Phase Na Area. CQC services <br />provided by Golder consisted of performing geosynthetics inventory and checking quality <br />control certifications prior to geosynthetics deployment. Golder performed geosynthetics CQA <br />activities in accordance with the CQA Plan. Geosynthetics CQA activities performed included: <br />- Golder observed and documented geomembrane deployment, trial seams, <br />seaming, destructive testing, and non-destructive testing (pressure tests <br />and vacuum tests); <br />- Golder performed conformance testing of geomembrane; <br />- Golder measured geomembrane panel thickness and confirmed adequate <br />panel overlap; <br />- Golder visually inspected geomembrane sheet quality, sheet grinding, <br />seam alignment, and continuity; and, <br />• - Golder retained azchive samples of geomembrane destructive tests and <br />trial seams. <br />1.3 Project Coordination <br />All Golder CQC and CQA activities were directed by Mr. Robert Nichols, the Golder Resident <br />Engineer. The Certifying Engineer, Mr. John F. Lupo, Ph.D., P.E. or his representatives <br />(Mr. Greg Eddy, P.E., Project Engineer, and Mr. James M. Johnson, Principal) made periodic <br />site visits to resolve technical issues and to review Golder activities.
