ACKNGWLEDGMENTS
The cultural resource inventory discussed herein was conducted under
subcontract to Woodward-Clyde Consultants, Englewood, Colorado, which in
turn is contracted to Consolidation Coal Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsyl-
vania. Mr. Robert McCollum, Jr., of the Woodward-Clyde Englewood office
served as the administrative contact and Dr. Ruthann Knudson of the
Woodward-Clyde Walnut Creek California office was the Project Task Leader
and technical liaison for the effort. At Consolidation Coal, Mr. Gary W.
Goodrich provided overall guidance to the project, along with various
data which greatly assisted our field effort.
Diana Christensen of Nickens and Associates conducted the prefield
literature searches and oral interviews, directed the fieldwork, ahd
prepared the draft project report. She was assisted in the field by
Carol Rolen, crew chief, and the following crew members: Barbara Cox,
Dan Reeder, Igor Steel, and Troy Tucker. Dr. Gordon C. Tucker, Jr.,
provided final editing of the report following receipt of comments on the
draft made by Dr. Knudson.
Special thanks are extended to a group of informants from the Meeker
area who graciously donated time to providing interviews from which much
local history related to the project area was acquired. These people
include the following: Mrs. Helen Jensen Bradford; h1r. George E.
Christensen; 14r. Harry Durham; Mrs. Iva Kendall; h1r. Lowell Osborn, Jr.,
• Mrs. Emma Seiloff Klaus; and h1r. and Mrs. Pat Sweeney.

viii
