Mined Land Reclamation Division
September 12, 1985
Paste 2
Exhibit D - Mining Plan:
1. All topsoil will be salvaged and stored separately
from overburden materials.
2. A maximum of 2 acres will be mined at anyone time
with reclamation to occur prior to start up of
excavation in the next area. Topsoil exists at an
average depth of 6 inches over the entire site;
therefore, the total amount of topsoil to be stored
at any one time is 1,613 C.Y.
3. Topsoil and overburden storage can be located just
south of the access road and west of the irrigation
ditch.
4. Topsoil piles once located will not be relocated
during mining. Slopes will conform to 3H: 1V re-
commended.
It is not intended that piles remain in place longer
than one growing season. If this should occur, the
piles will be vegetated on recommendation of seeding
by the County Forester.
5. Addressed under Exhibit C. ,
6. The operator does not feel that sediment delivery will
be a problem in maintaining the irrigation ditches and
road drainage ditches. If a problem becomes evident,
berming will be utilized to mitigate the problem.
7. Mining will be to 3H:1V slopes from the property line
setback to limits shown on Exhibit D - Mining Plan.
Average depth of mining is 35-40 feet. The pit will
drain freely.
Exhibit E - Reclamation Plan:
1. Final land use should be changed to open range/wasteland
and 3H: 1V slopes should be more than adequate. Final
land use will be no different than existing land use
and slopes are considerably greater than 3H: 1V.
2. Reclamation of all haul road areas, stockpile and
processing areas, when appropriate, will include the
following:
a. Removal of all excess roadbase and gravel.
b. Utilization of overburden to provide shaping
to contours shown on Reclamation Plan.
