Non-passerine species observed during the winter transacts were <br />the golden eagle and blue grouse. <br />Qualitative Surveys. Qualitative surveys of areas not subjected to strip <br />census were conducted in May~Tune, 1979 and February, 1980 to coi~ile a <br />oomFilete list of birds occupying the study site. Passerine species observed <br />during these surveys were: Stellar's jay, raven, white-throated swift, <br />starling, and ccamun flicker. All of these species, except the raven, were <br />observed in the vicinity of rocky outcroppings and cliffs. The raven was <br />observed as a "flyover" in the Gambel oak vegetation type. <br />Avian species dociarented for the area during the Colorado Bird Distribution <br />iatilcng Study in 1978 are listed in Table 6.
