to demonstrate compliance with Rule 6.4.19 for all portions of the slurry wall that will be within
200 linear feet of the planned pit excavation(s). Finally, for purposes of verifying an adequate
reclamation cost for the slurry wall installation, please verify the squaze footage of slurry wall to
be installed per linear foot of slurry wall and the total number of linear feet of shiny wall to be
installed. Please respond.
6.4.6 EXHBIT F -Reclamation Plan Maa
4. In conformance with Rule 6.2.1(b), maps and exhibits must be prepared and signed by a
registered land surveyor, professional engineer, or other qualified person. The Division also
requests that you cleazly define the permit boundary for the 201 acres to be pennitted and show
the location of the slurry wall trench. In conformance with Rule 6.4.7(3)&(4), please provide an itemized estimate of the project
water requirements during the mining and the reclamation phases of the operation, and the
projected amount from each of the sources of water to supply the project water requirements for
the mining operation and reclamation.
6. The Applicant has stated that Bishop Brogden Associates Inc is in the process of preparing a
Temporary Substitute Supply Plan (TSSP) which will address water rights impacts of the
operation. Please indicate the status of the TSSP, ie: submittal and review by the Office of the
State Engineer (OSE).
7. The Applicant has specified that at reclamation, storm-water flows will be routed azound the
reservoirs and ponds to the Big Thompson River via aman-made trapezoidal channel(s) with
"grouted sloping boulder drop structures"orrip-rap lined. In compliance with Rule 6.4.7(2)(c),
please provide design details, itemized installation costs, and revise the Reclamation Plan Map to
show the location(s) of where these structures will be constructed. In compliance with Rule 6.4.7(2)(c) please clarify which surface (or groundwater)
features these outlet details pertain to and where each will be installed.
9. The Applicant has provided a "Groundwater Modeling & Perimeter Drain Design Report"
dated November 13, 2006. Iu the report, the Applicant indicates that the principle boundary `~'%='
conditions were prescribed heads at perimeter cells of the model domain, and surveyed surface
water elevations of the Big Thompson River (measured August, 2004). The Applicant also has
committed to installation of perimeter drains at or neaz existing groundwater elevations just
outside of the slurry wall for the purpose of mitigating groundwater mounding up-gradient of the
slurry wall installation.
