The
required fee of $217 for the renewal of this substitute water supply plan has been submitted. The
original plan was approved on January 9, 1992, and was most recently renewed on May 23, 2003.
Mining has been completed at the East Rigden site and construction of a clay reservoir liner
.~ is proceeding in the southeast portion of the property. In addition, mined material is no longer
-" conveyed from the adjacent Resource Recovery Farm site to be processed at the East Ridgen
facility.
The exposed acreage has decreased to 23.2 acres, which includes 0.3 acres of dewatering
trench. According to previously submitted information, 25 acres ofwatersurface was exposed within
the reclamation permit boundary prior to January 1, 1981. Since the current exposed area is less
than the area exposed prior to January 1, 1981, there is no Iongeran evaporation augmentation
requirement at this site.
The anticipated consumptive use at this site consists of 1 acre-foot fordust suppression and
0.08 acre-feet for the office/asphalt production plant septic system. The replacement requirement
for this approval period is 4.8.acre-feet, which accounts for the lagged depletions from consumptive
used during this plan period and lagged depletions accruing to the river from previous operatiohs.
The proposed sources of repiacementwaterforthis pit is one Box Elder Ditch share which
will be recharged into a 7.9-acre pond located on the property. The one Box Elder Ditch share is part
of the 8 shares that were historically used to irrigate 222.7 acres of corn, alfalfa and pasture grass at
the East Rigden site, which have been taken out of the production. The historic consumptive used of
the 8 shares was determined to be approximately 327.3 acre-feet. The pro-rata consumptive use for
one share is 40.9 acre-feet.
A monthly breakdown of depletions and replacements is shown on the attached Table. The
Table indicates that although the total consumptive use from the mining operation is currently 1.08
acre-feet, this plan will make replacements for 4.8 acre-feet to account for lagged depletions from
previous consumption at the site. Weli permit no. 53509-F was obtained for the gravel pit in
accordance with §37-90-137(2) and (11), C.R.S.
