SECTION 1.0 2005 Annual Reclamation Report
As specified by the revisions (1/3190) to 2CCR 407-2, 2.04.13, Trapper Mine is submitting an Annual
Reclamation Report for the previous calendar year (2005).
Historically, section 3.5.3 of Trapper's mining and reclamation permit required a reclamation map be
submitted to the CDMG annually by March 15. Subsequent to 1988 the map entitled the "Postmine
Contour Map" was changed to "Reclamation Map." The reclamation maps developed from aerial
photographs taken during the previous fall shows pit advancements, recontoured spoil areas and a
historical account of the previously regraded areas for the year.
The 2005 reclamation map is a composite of the aerial photographs taken in October 2005, and shows
the reclamation performed during 2005 for ait areas under bond. Map(s) 1 show the aerial extent and
location of disturbed acres, graded acres, topsoiled acres and perennial seeded acres during 2005. It
also shows the location, aerial extent and reclamation year of all previously revegetated areas, as well as
the actual and projected mature shrub clump establishment areas, topsoil stripping areas and laydown
areas for 2006.
1.1 Permittee Identification
The Permittee for this annual reclamation report is:
Trapper Mining Inc.
P.O. Box 187
• Craig CO 81626
Permit No. C-81-010
1.2 Results
Table 1.1 and Map(s) 1 show the 2005 reclamation results. The various reclamation stages
are addressed below in separate subsections.
1.2.1 Disturbed Acres
In 2005, Trapper disturbed 49.5 acres resulting from topsoil salvage for pit advancement,
haulage corridor construction, topsoil stockpile construction, and other miscellaneous activities
as approved by the Division.
1.2.2 Backfilled and Graded Acres
Trapper backfilled and graded approximately 122.5 acres in 2005 to final contour (AOC).
These acres were in Flintlock and East Flintlock (Z) pit areas.
1.2.3 Topsoiled Acres
Trapper retopsoiled 122.5 acres in 2005 in Flintlock pit, East Flintlock (Z) pit and the Old
Powder Magazine areas.
1.2.4 Seeded Acres
Trapper drill seeded to permanent vegetation 64.3 acres in the fall of 2005 and aerial seeded
• another 58.3 acres on the snow during March 2006. Trapper also plans to strip drill seed the
aerial seeded area this spring as some of the seed types require drill seeding. The location of
the drilled versus aerial seeded acres can be found on a Map(s) 1. Permanent seeding acres
for 2005 can be found in the Flintlock, East Flintlock and Old Powder Magazine areas.
A total of 11.4 acres of temporary seed mix was seeded on the Middle Flume pond cleaning
site and topsoil piles during 2005 season.
