DEPARTMENT OF HFr9LTTl, Water Quality Control Division
No. I -Rationale -Page 2. Permit No. CO-0027146
2. Clarsificnlian: This stream segment is classified jor the following uses: Use Protected; Recreation, Class
2; Aquatic Life, Cars 2 (warm J; Agriculture.
3. Numeric Standards: The standards which have been assigned in accordance with the above classifications
watt be found in 3.7.0, Class cations and Numeric Standards jor the Lower Colorado River Basin (5 CCR
1002-8J, as amended September 7, 1993. Ir should be noted that the intntediate rereiving wafer, segment
13, has no metals standards. The neat stream segmem with metals standards is the Colorado River,
segment 2. The low flow of the Colorado River m this point is 1086 cfs, the maximum flow from omjall
QLS-is0.28 ds. This results in a worse case dilution ratio of 3878:1. On this basis, there would not be
an impact from this dtsdtarge on segment 2 water quality standards.
4. Amideeradation Review: Since the rcttiving water is Use Protected, an amidegradatian review is nor
required pursuam to section 3.1.8(1)(6) of The Basic Standards and Merhodolories for Sarface Water.
B. Receiving Water Dula
Quanrirv. Acute and Chronic Law Flows: 7)u flows which wiU be used !o calculate acute and chronic
ejjluem limitations are the one day in three year low flow (lE3J and the 30 day in three year low flow
(30E3J respectively. Those flaws have been determined for the unnamed tributary to the Colorado River
by the Water Quality Comrol Division, and are as jolbws (all flows in cubic jeer per second):
Acute and Chronic Low Flaws
,:,.
.:..
