i of the data will be provided when requesting bond release
-~
to demonstrate that an acceptable diverse community is present
on the reclaimed areas and will satisfy the goals of the
post-mining land use plan.
II-4.4 Revegetation Monitoring Plan
Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality Guideline
No. 2 (R.Dorn/January, 1981/Revision 3) describes the
equations which will be used in comparing pre-mining
vegetative parameters with post-mining vegetative parameters
- for determination oP successful reclamation. Zn accordance
with this guideline, a yearly vegetation monitoring program
will be implemented: Reference area data will be compared
a to data collected from reclaimed areas along with baseline
data in certain instances to determine success of
- reclamation.
The sampling methodology that will be implemented to
monitor revegetation success throughout the revegetation
effort will utilize a cover sampling technique similar to
- that used for baseline studies. Plant cover will be determined
' annually by species within meter-squared quadrats. The
reclaimed areas anP the reference areas will be sampled
for cover until cover and production sampling for bond release
is realized.
_.:
- 54 -
