This remedy complies with the recommrnded health advisory by <br />ATSDR for cleanup of soils contaminated with lead. <br />This cleanup meets the statutory and regulatory evaluation criteria for selection ~f a <br />remedy. Because hazardous substances will remain at the site, EPA will conduct periodic <br />inspections of the site to ensure that the remedy remains protective of human health and the <br />environment. EPA is required to conduct such reviews under Section 121(c) of CERCLA and the <br />NCP. <br />Contaminated material will remain onsite after completion of the remedy. The long terns <br />effectiveness and permanence of the remedy is ensured by monitoring and maintenance of the <br />clean soil cap and vegetative cover. With the completion of these remedial action activities and <br />continuing monitoring, EPA is assured that all azeas of concern described in the NPL listing have <br />been adequately addressed. <br />VI. FSve Year Review Ftitture Activities <br />The only remaining item necessary for meetiTtg the requirements of a Final Site Closeout <br />Report is concurrecce from the State. Concurrence from the State is expected by December <br />1996. <br />EPA Region VIII will conduct a Statutory Five-Year Review pusuant to CERCLA § 121 <br />(c), NCP § 300.400(f)(4)(ii); OSWER Directive 9355.7-02, Structure mid Components <br />of Five-Year Reviews, May 23, 1991; and OSWER Directive 9355.7-02A, <br />Supplemental Five-Year Review guidance, July 26, 1994.
