_:
TR9PP8R MINING INC. 999
September 10, 1990
CERTIFIED #P568141699
Mr. David Berry
Coloratlo Mined Land Reclamation Division
215 Centennial Bldg.
1313 Sherman St.
Denver, CO 80203
Dear David:
RECEIVED
SEP 1 1 1990
Mined Land
Reclamation Division
Concerning your 8/17/90 correspondence addressing Trapper's Industrial Waste Pond (IWP) and Deer
Gulch pond #1 status, I present the following.
1) Industrial Waste Pond
As discussed during your last inspection, the industrial waste pond is inspected regularly by Trapper
employees and is not used for sediment control purposes. Appropriate detail and location of this
pond can be found on the M13a and 13b maps (Facilities). The pond was constructed in 1975 and
discussions are provided in permit section 4.3.2.2 (pg 4-16). Detailed plan drawing of Trapper's
Industrial Waste Facilities are available upon request. However, as-built profiles are not available,
although pond construction appears to meet the compliance requirements of Rule 4.05.9. Since this
structure was constructed pre-SMCRA, it may be exempt from same existing regulations.
2) Deer Pond #1
Deer Gulch pond #1 is proposed for construction in the spring/early summer of 1991. An appro-
priate revision with CMLRD and NPDES designation with the Water Quality Control Division will
be completed before any construction activities commence.
David, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.
S~~rel~~
L /~
*~(
William Agnew
Sr. Environmental Engineer
WA/jb
[CMLRD\SEPT10]
c: J.M.
