The piezometers have been <br />located to track the influence of pit excavation on drawdown <br />and the interaction, if any, between the pit and calamity <br />Draw and the West Lateral Irrigation Ditch, for two <br />monitoring phases. Phases 1 and 2 cozrespond roughly to the <br />periods o-3 years, and after three. years of mining, <br />respectively. The surface-water monitoring station basically <br />supplements PCC's extensive monitoring program by providing~a <br />station immediately upstream Prom the permit boundary. <br />Additional details of.PCC's monitoring program are contained <br />in Tab 15 of PCC's permit application. <br />The following should be emphasized. <br />1. The proposed monitoring program should be imple- <br />mented in the phases designated in Figure 2. <br />2.
