should be monitored. Mining along the eastern edge of the
NUCLA EAST area is expected to extend only ten feet below
the water table. Trierefore, impact on these wells is
expected to be minimal.
These represent, basically, the worst case scenarios for
impacts of the mining operation on ground-water tights.
it should be recognized that the zone-of-influence
estimates from pit excavation are based on several
assumptions that may not necessarily reflect the actual field
setting. Over time, however, the proposed monitoring program
will provide input to assist in the refinement of the Initial
• estimates of impact to water rights adjacent to the NUCLA
EAST pit.
4.4 WATER-RIGHTS MONITORING PLAN
GEOTRANS proposes that PCC implement additional
monitoring to include the following:
- Monitor the rate of inflow into the pits by installing
cumulative flow maters on the pumps.
- Monitor the shallow ground-water aquifer between
the proposed NUCLA EAST mina pit and Calamity Draw, and
29
•
GE07RAN5, INC.
REVISED MARCH 2006 Attachment 2.05.6(3)(b)(v}1-34
