WSC wishes to point out that the only way it is possible
to "show how this mining can be done safely", is to do it.
Emperical formulas have little basis in fact when increased
mountain pressures are induced by overlaying poorly extracted
work, and as such, only experience will demonstrate whether
this will be accomplished safely. These mine plans will
likely be revised pursuant to further drilling and evaluation
work. As they are now they represent tentative plans.
2. 41SC is presently exploring and evaluating the F Seam and
in the event that there is mineable coal WSC will evaluate
the size of the reserve, determine whether it is best to mine
with continuous miner/room and pillar methods or with longwall
methods, and upon such determination a mining plan will be
submitted. At the present time 4JSC does not have enough
data points to construct anisopach map for the F seam.
lJhen this information becomes available LJSC will submit
it to the USG S.
The mention of the F seam was put in the mining plan so
that USGS would be kept abreast of WSC's actions and as we
do not have sufficient data yet to construct a reasona~le
mining plan, such a mining plan has not been constructed.
