NMD (Panels 12 Right through 16 Right) (PR 99-OS) <br />• The NMD will increase the affected area with the permit, i.e. area overlying longwall panels, gateroads and mains, <br />by 2,482.6 acres. The area to be mined in the NMD permit term is shown on Map 23 Mine Plan. The permit area <br />is identified by the color coding used in creating the map. The mining layout will include longwall panels length <br />up to approximately 15,000 feet, longwall panel width of 1000 feet, and gateroad, and mine development work as <br />described in PR-03. The dimension of pillars in these development areas may vary based upon mining conditions. <br />Sumps and ventilation doglegs will be added as needed, although this location is not provided on Map 23 due to <br />the variable location of these features. <br />During the NMD permit term, ]ongwall mining will be conducted under the Foidel and Fish Creek AVF's, Fish <br />Creek, the Union Pacific Railroad and two reservoirs owned by the Ashleys. Amore detailed discussion of <br />undermining these structures will be presented in a late section. <br />UNDERGROUND DRILL HOLES (MR O1-172 ) <br />NOTE - MR O1-172 WAS WITHDff RAWN BY TCC ON July 11, 2001 <br />NMD (Panels 17 Right through Z~Right) (PR 03-06) <br />The NMD will increase the affected azea with the permit, i.e. area overlying longwall panels, gateroads and mains, <br />by 2,779.2 acres. Amore detailed discussion of <br />undermining these structures will be presented in a late section. <br />(3) Mine Facilities <br />(a) A narrative and maps, to meet the standards orescribed in 2.10, describine the location, <br />construction, modification, use, maintenance and removal of mine facilities in the permit area including_all <br />buildinQS, structures and utiliri corridors. <br />RESPONSE <br />The existing Foidel Creek Mine surface facilities consist of building structures, material handling system, utilities, <br />and surface areas as shown on Map 24, Surface Facilities. Untopsoiled areas within the surface facilities area may <br />be leveled and then utilized for additional storage. <br />Buildines <br />The original mine administrative office was a 60 foot by 36 foot modular trailer structure, was modified to allow <br />for the cold weather and heavy snow load of the area. That administrative structure contained 11 offices for the <br />mine staff. As the mine expanded, a new office bathhouse complex was built to replace the modular trailers, as <br />indicated on Map 24, Surface Facilities. <br />~ In the interim, another administrative office was added for mine staff. The 36 foot by 56 foot trailer was located <br />west of the original administrative office. The trailer contained a bathroom and was hooked up to the existing <br />septic and water systems. Electrical power was supplied to the trailer by a transformer located on the east side of <br />PR 03-06 2.05-17.2 05/07/03 <br />
