Slcpes are fairly gentle, about 6~, There appeared
to be 1 to 1~ Feet cf soil material adjacent to the pit, as xell as a
fairly large stockpile o£ soil material that could be used for tops oiling,

The Egnar pit is located on the Pulpit portion of the Bowdish-PuJ.p.;
soil complex. Typically the Pulpit fraction has a loam surface layer
Ea „~r about !I inches thick, over a clay loam subsoil of 18 inches, This overlies
P~i~ /n res~bles a auarrl~rathersthan~a teCical thlacereraravelmoit clofee
4 Y YP~ °P 1t g P~ s
there is little to b., done with the side slopes, Whatever spoil is
eft after the gravel is removed can be shaped and blended for resee~.ng,
The Applebaugh ~~it above Placerville is located on the Losee gravelly
sandy loam soil series, Slopes are nearly level, The surface is a
gravelly sandy loam +about 7 inches thick, over a cobbly sandy loam
subsoil about 7 inch~:s thick, In R4' field visit I noticed ver',/ ]itte
soil material available for surfacing, It is my understanding that ;!.r,
Applebaugh xanted to have the pond remain after the gravel operation. I
xould recommend that the area be graded and shaped after the gra~rel is
t removed, to aid revel;etation,
~~s.,,•~~'rThe Norwood airport pit is located on the Uracca portion of the Uracca-
~'"~>} t 9 Cerro soil complex. The surface of the Uracca part is a gravelly loam
i`• «< about 10 inches thicF:, The subsoil is a 5 inch gravelly clay loam,
The pit on the Troy Rose ranch is located on a Cheyenne sandy loam
soil series, It typical]y has a sandy loam surface about 8 inches
thick, The subsoil is a stratafied gravelly sandy loam about 24 inches
thick, overlying sand and gravel, Slopes range from 0 to 3~. There xas
a large stockpile of soil material, and it should be fairly easy to
scatter it once the gravel operations cease,
0
