Reclamation
of the site will be completed to reclaim the affected land to municipal water storage reservoirs
and upland/wet meadows. We have the following cotrnnems and recommendations on this
~-
Reclamation Plan
Water Storage Reservoir
The Reclamation map states that all reservoir final slopes will be reclaimed to a maximum of
3H:1V. his recommended that the final reservoir slopes be no steeper than 3:1, and preferably
less steep such as 4:1 or 5:1, to permit eventual use of the reclaimed water storage reservoir by
wildlife. Steep slopes such as 3:1 can discourage wildlife from approaching and using the water
re3erV0]C.
O SOLI
The NRCS recommends, as plaaned by the applicarn, that topsoil stockpiled for reclamation be
segregated from other spoil. The topsoil and overburden stockpiles should be graded with final
slopes no steeper than 4H 1 V. Slopes that are less steep allow easier maintenance, are less
susceptible to water erosion and more readily establish grass protective cover.
It is highly recommended that topsoil and overburden stockpiled over 30 days be seeded
iauuediately as weather permits to protect it. The immediate seeding of these stockpiles should
be done to avoid soil erosion from wind and water, as well as from a weed standpoint.
