Kreissler:
I lkave completed my adequacy review of your mining and reclamation permit
a1~plicaL-ion for the above captioned operation. I have several comments
and/or questions concerning the application which are presented on an
exhibit--by-exhibit basis below. Exhibits not mentioned are considered
adequate or await review by advisory agencies.
Application item 17 - Proposed Future Land Use:
A ire acceptable future land use for this site would be as wildlife
habitat. As such, this would be a beneficial ]Bnc~ use as required by
the fiined Land Reclamation Act (34-32-103(13]).
Exhibit C:
~1. fining stage 3 should be identified gore clearly.
2. It Ss not clear whether the existing access mad or the area narised
"leased accoss" is to be used as the access to the operation (see
comments, exhibit D).
3. Is the 100' undisturbed greenbelt included in the affecte:? land?
Exhibit D:
1. Stages 2 and 3 of the mining plan should be more carefully described
as to direction of mining (as is done for stage 1).
2. Topsoil from roads should be stripped, stockpiled and planted with
a nemnnial grass cover such as western wheatgrass (broadcast at 6.0 Ibs.
Wore live seed/acre). This will facilitate reclamation at the end
of the operation.
(cont'd)
