EXHIBIT I - Soils Information
The U.S. Soils Conservation Service has designated the
affected area as 60% Clifsand soil, 30% Chroder soil and 10%
Tipperary loamy sand on dunes near escarpments. For a
description of these soils see Exhibit I-1 attached.
EXHIBIT J - Vegetation Information
The Soil Conservation Service describes the potential
plant community on this unit as mainly Wyoming big sage,
shadescale, needle and thread, western wheatgrass,
bottlebrush squirreltail, thickspike wheatgrass, and Indian
wheatgrass. However, the affected area is nearly barren of
vegetation because of heavy livestock and wildlife grazing
and because of the destructive forces of local prairie dog
towns. For a description of the vegetation see Exhibit I-1.
EXHIBIT K - Climate Information
The elevation of the affected area is 5840 above sea
level. The average annual precipitation is 7 to 10 inches,
the average annual air temperature is 45 to 48 degrees F,
and the average frost-free period is 90 to 105 days. For a
