<br />EXHIBIT H - Wildlife Information <br />The significant wildlife resources on the Cross <br />Mountain Pit No. 1 include: elk, mule deer, antelope, mountain <br />lion, and sage grouse. Other common year around mammals are: <br />striped skunk, badger, weasel ermine, raccoon, grey fox, <br />porcupine, deer mouse, richardson ground squirrels, white <br />tailed jackrabbit, cottontailed rabbit, and marmot. <br />Migrant birds include: Canadian geese, national <br />varieties of ducks, red tailed hawk, marsh hawk, mourning <br />dove, western blue bird and starling. Year around birds <br />include: the great horned owl, black billed magpie, and <br />house sparrow. <br />Common year around reptiles include wondering garter <br />snake, bull snake, and rattlesnake. There are no known <br />endangered or threatened species known to inhabit, or to be <br />dependent upon the affected area. <br />Most of Moffat County is considered critical year <br />around range for elk, deer and antelope. Although the subject <br />affected area is private land, these big game animals can be <br />found on the property in any season. The temporary loss of <br />portions of the affected area will have no significant <br />impact on those herds. <br />The Cross Mountain Pit No. 1 will not interfere with <br />migratory routes of any species, or the welfare of the Bald <br />Eagle.
