Mr. Calvin Joyner
January 26, 1998
Page 2
7. Wally Erickson states in his report that "five recent excavations were
observed within or near the surveyed area, four of the excavations were marked
by orange pin flagging. Affected area for each excavation was estimated at 10'
X 10" area, total affected area estimated at 500 square feet." If Mr. Erickson
estimates that four excavations disturbed 500 square feet would it not be fair
to say that if there are 15 test trenches and numerous roads cut that the total
disturbance area would be more than 500 square feet? Would it be fair to say
that the disturbed area is more than 1,600 square feet?
Would you please provide me with a completed mining map that shows the
location of test trenches, roads cut and a total square footage of the area
disturbed?
Thank you. Your prompt attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated.
As you know, our hearing has been rescheduled for February 25 and 26 and it
is important that I receive this information prior to that date.
Sincerely,
Susie Campbell Bell
P.
