SECTION 1.0 1997 Annual Reclamation Report
As specified by the revisions (1/3/90) to 2CCR 407-2, 2.04.13; Trapper Mine is submitting an Annual
Reclamation Report for the previous calendar year (1997).
Historically, section 3.5.3 of Trapper's mining and reGamation permit required a reGamation map be
submitted to the CDMG annually by March 15. Subsequent to 1988 the map entitled the "Postmine
Contour Map" has changed to "ReGamation Map." The reGamation map developed from aerial pho-
tographs taken during the previous fall shows pit advancements, recontoured spoil areas and a
historical account of the previously regraded areas for the year.
The 1997 reGamation map is a composite of the aerial photographs taken in October 1997, and shows
the reGamation performed during 1997 for all areas under bond. Map(s) 1.0 show the aerial extent and
location of mature shrub Gumps, disturbed acres, graded acres, topsoiled acres and perennial seeded
acres during 1997. It also shows the location, aerial extent and reclamation year of all previously
revegetated areas, as well as the projected mature shrub clump establishment areas, topsoil stripping
areas and laydown areas for 1998.

1.2 Results
Table 1.1 and Map(s) 1.0 show the 1997 reclamation results. The various reclamation stages
are addressed below in separate subsections.
1.2.1 Disturbed Acres
In 1997, Trapper disturbed 217.04 acres resulting from topsoil salvage, haulage cortidor con-
struction, topsoil stockpile construction, sediment pond construction, and other miscellaneous
activities as approved by the Division.
1.2.2 Backfilled and Graded Acres
Trapper backfilled and graded to final contour (AOC) approximately 74.38 acres in 1997.
These acres were in Ashmore Pit and Derringer Pit.
1.2.3 Topsoiled Acres
Trapper retopsoiled 77.32 acres during 1997 in Ashmore PR and Dertinger Pil.
1.2.4 Seeded Acres
There were no acres seeded to perennial species associated with mine pit(s) advancement.
. InGement weather last fall did not allow for proper seeding conditions, therefore, these acres
will be seeded in 1998.
