FISHER • <br />Director <br />• KENNETH G.ROWBERG <br />Assistant Director <br />EI Paso County Planning Department <br />May 21, 7990 <br />Midway Sand & Gravel, Inc. <br />Vernie Houtchens <br />Box 353 <br />Fountain, Colorado 60817 <br />RE: Special Use Amendment - Minderal Resource Extraction and Processing <br />(A L-90-2) <br />This is to inform you that the above-referenced request for an amendment to <br />their Special Use approval to operate a hAineral Resource Extraction and <br />Processing Operation on specified areas within approximately five hundred <br />forty (540) acres in the A-2 and A-4 (Agricultural) Districts was heard and <br />approved by the Board of County County Commissioners on May 77, 1990. <br />The request is to modify the phasing plan attached to the original approval. <br />The property is located adjacent to Interstate 25, two miles north of the <br />Pueblo County line. Tax Schedule #'s 57000-00-068, 57270-00-003. <br />The following conditions and notations were applied to this approval: <br />CONDITIONS: <br />1. The mining plan shall be modified to provide screening of <br />the pit areas from Interstate 25 either by leaving that area <br />fronting Interstate 25 undisturbed, by berming, or by not <br />mining that area until the last phase of mining and reclama- <br />tion of the pit areas has already begun. A copy of the <br />mining plan which meets these requirements shall be sub- <br />mitted to the Planning Department within ninety (90) days <br />of Board of County Commissioners' approval. <br />2. Within ninety (90) days of Board of County Commissioners' <br />approval, permanent visible markers shall be placed by the <br />applicant in the field at the corners of the mining areas, in <br />order to determine the mining area boundaries.
