Phase IVc • r~ LJ Ames did not conduct any construction activities in the Phase Nc area during this reporting period. Field Monitoring and Testing Activities Golder observed construction activities associated with Phase IV earthworks. All construction materials and soil materials placed were verified as suitable, and construction methods were in accordance with project specifications. Removal of oversized and deleterious material from all fill azeas was observed. Golder observed Structural Fill (SF) placement in Phase IV for lift thickness, moisture content, and compactive effort. Golder observed and tested placement of SLF in Phase Na, completing five in-situ density tests, seven depth verification tests, and verified surface prepazation. Prior to geomembrane deployment, the SLF met the requirements of the specifications. Golder observed anchor trench excavation and backfill for proper location, materials, lift thickness, compaction, and dimension (2' wide and 3' deep). Anchor trench excavation and backfill met or exceeded the requirements of the specifications. Golder observed geomembrane deployment, documenting ambient air temperature, panel dimensions, seaming, tie-in overlap, and seam testing (trial seams, pressure, vacuum, and destructive). Geomembrane placed in the Phase IVa area met the project specifications. Golder observed and documented excavation and remediation activities associated with the Phase IV underground working construction. Golder observed placement of SF, SSF, and CP for underground working remediaion. These materials were placed in accordance with the drawings and specifications into excavated or open underground workings. Golder previously obtained samples of SF, SSF, and CP for laboratory testing. Materials supplied met specifications. Terracon conducted field testing and sampling of CP concrete as per specifications, and will supply 28-day strength results. Golder observed and documented confirmation drilling activities associated with the Phase IV construction. Full-time monitoring was given to confirmation drilling of underground workings, including logging holes, mazking drill locations, surveying holes, and documenting underground workings encountered. Golder visually observed the placement of DCF in the Phase IVa azea. Golder had one CQA monitor per dozer to observe DCF placement. Laboratory Tests Golder obtained one sample of Soil Liner Fill (SLFa-12), one sample of Drain Cover Fill (DCFa- 03), and one sample of Structural Fill (SFb-11) for laboratory testing.
