Some of the matters I mentioned are not yet clear.
Many have been resolved, however. I will ask further clarification
questions on those matters that are not yet resolved, using the Exhibit
letter and question number designations from my original letter. Please
respond to these remaining questions as soon as possible to facilitate
Board consideration of the application during the scheduled April 27-28,
1983 meeting.
Exhibit C
3. The reclamation of the topsoil stockpile areas is still not clear.
Your reclamation plan calls fora phased mining and reclamation plan.
( / However, these topsoil berm areas will remain as moderate disturbance
/X\ throughout the life of the mine and may necessitate redisturbance of
previously reclaimed adjacent areas (to produce an overall smooth
grade). Reclamation costs for grading and revegetating these areas
should be included in Exhibit L.
6. Since the weathered sandstone is about 40' deep and a 25' layer is to
/// be mined, it seems that the weathered material is not to be mined
F! down to unweathered sandstone, but merely to the selected depth.
This is probably a good idea from a reclamation point of view. Is
this the case?
