• The crusher facility, coal stockpile and coal handling
operations could potentially contribute pollutants
(air-born coal fines) to the stormwater.
c. Preventive Maintenance: Preventive maintenance is
required in the following areas:
1) Surface moisture content of the stockpiled coal
will be maintained to prevent visible emissions
from the stockpile.
2) Unpaved haul and access roads on site will be
watered to maintain adequate surface moisture
content.
3) Mud, dirt and coal deposited on paved roads will
be cleaned daily or as required using a water
truck or other means.
4) Water spray bars must be operated and maintained
on all crushing and conveying equipment as
required to minimized dust generation.
5) if rills occur, in those areas where vegetation is
used as the primary sediment control feature for
stormwater runoff, they will be repaired. Any
• damage to vegetation will be reseeded and mulched
if necessary.
6) Sediment must be periodically removed from the
sediment fences in the areas where a sediment
fence is the primary sediment control feature for
stormwater runoff.
7) The oil absorber in the west yard will be cleaned
or replaced when necessary.
d. Good Housekeeping: The good housekeeping requirement
for this plan consists of performing the required
preventive maintenance as follows:
1) Maintain water sprays and surface moisture on coal
piles and site roads.
2) Cleaning the paved haul road as necessary.
3) Maintaining sediment fences and repairing rills
and gullies.
4) Clean or replace oil absorber in west yard.
