EXHIBIT D 110
The soil is in a lazge thick alluvial and is consistent from the top to maximum depth to be
removed. See soil type information enclosed.
The depth of this soil is unknown but continues below the level of Hwy 149 as
demonstrated on the opposite side of the highway therefore the medium left is suitable for
establishing vegetation.
This same soil on the south of HWY 149 was used to cap another VCUP containment
pile with excellent results.
The property and Hwy 149 slope slightly from west to east toward Willow Creek the flat
azeas adjoining Hwy 149 will be sloped to utilize the two culverts adjoining the azea.
Maximum gradient for the slopes will be 2:1 except as noted at Airport Corner as shown
on the After Reclamation map. 2/1 slopes aze requested because the slope of the
remaining hill side is almost this steep, see contours. This slope allows the availability of
the necessary amount of top soil. This slope has been vegetated across the road and is
adequate for wildlife.
Airport Corner would be left with a steep slope as shown in photo of east end of property
although only about I S' high in order to increase the sight line azound Airport Corner as
traffic is making a left hand turn onto Airport Road. This is necessary because of the
increase in traffic to the RV pazk and additional houses off Airport Road and the increase
of traffic on Hwy 149 in general. This request is supported by CDOT and Mineral County
Road Department.
The seed bed on the flat portion will be prepazed by harrowing with the teeth forwazd. If
necessary the drive roads would be chiseled.
Fertilizer and seed would be broad cast and harrowed in with the teeth pointed backwazd
except on the slopes where it would be raked in by hand.
The azea east of the culvert at the center of the project under Hwy 149 would be worked
and planted after completion of work in 2007. After completion of work in 2007 the
slopes of excavated areas west of the culvert would be contoured to a minimum of 2/1 for
the winter. As the remaining top soil is sold the excavation will progress from east to
west. Each fall for the remainder of the project, areas where excavation is completed will
be reclaimed.
See enclosed bid for seed mixture and application rates for broadcasting.
Tractor rent from Monte Vista COOP is $80/day and trailer is $20/day.
