Frequency and Sample Type - Chronic WET Testing (Cont.) <br />After June 30, 1992, the chronic testing requirements will no longer be <br />required unless applicable regulations require inclusion of a chronic <br />toxicity limit. <br />The permittee shall conduct each chronic toxicity test in general <br />accordance with methods described in the Division guidance document <br />entitled Guidelines for Conducting Whole Effluent Toxicity Tests. <br />As general information, chronic toxicity occurs when there is a <br />statistically significant difference in survival, growth or reproduction <br />for either species. <br />11. Toxicity Reopener <br />If, during the first three years after the issuance of this permit, <br />toxicity has occurred in the discharge, or it is established that there <br />• is a reasonable potential for toxicity in the discharge, this permit <br />shall be reopened and modified to impose WET limitations in a manner <br />consistent with any applicable Federal Regulations in effect at that <br />time. Limitations imposed in accordance with such Federal Regulations, <br />if applicable, shall be in effect no later than three years after the <br />date, WET testing conditions were first incorporated into this issued <br />permit. If toxicity occurs in the fourth and fifth years and a THE is <br />necessary during this period, the permit shall be immediately reopened <br />and modified to incorporate such limits, if applicable in accordance <br />with Federal Regulations. <br />Revised 5/2/89 <br />Doc 1003M <br /> <br />
