These materials will <br />be located between the intake air portals. <br />An extra supply of material as listed above for fire fighting <br />will also be located underground in a strategic location. A <br />sign saying "FOR FIRE FIGHTING ONLY" will be posted at the <br />above location. <br />while the above preparation is being done, the superintendent <br />or designated official will notify Federal and State authorities. <br />A foam machine, if necessary, will be brought in. ventilation <br />of the mine will not be altered or reversed unless the person <br />or persons responsible deem it reasonably certain that doing <br />so will allow men to escape who would otherwise be trapped. <br />First aid supplies and locations as per 75:1713-7 are available <br />and complete. <br />(9) Water lines will be capable of discharging SO~gallons per minute <br />• at nozzle pressure of 50 pounds per square inch. Water hose <br />and valves will be installed every 300 or 150 ft. intervals <br />so that they may reach from one valve to the next one. Portable <br />fire extinguishers will be located near the working face and at <br />unattended equipment. All mine personnel are instructed in the <br />use of fire extinguishers. Continuous miners will be equipped <br />with water sprays and water deluge systems and the miner operator, <br />helper, face boss and mechanic will be familiar with water system, <br />and will, during fire drills, simulate operating of water deluge <br />system. Shuttle cars and roof bolters will be equipped with <br />approved chemical fire suppressant systems; and operators, <br />helpers, mechanics and face bosses will be familiar with the <br />operation of said systems. All employees who are miner operators, <br />helpers, shuttle car operators, roof bolters and helpers will, <br />during fire drills, simulate by mocY, runs the fire suppressant <br />systems on equipment in their respective sections. <br />• <br />
