EMERGENCY EVACUATION PLANS <br />1~ the evacuation plan on plan map (scale: 1" = 200') will be kept <br />in the mine office. This map will show escapeways with signs and <br />arrows showing routes to surface along with exits. The main <br />escapeways will be through entries ventilated with intake air <br />and which are separated from the return. <br />Any changes in travel, air or doors will be noted. Plan maps <br />will-be available to all employees so that they may learn their <br />escapeway routes. <br />2) All men employed in underground working sections will be in- <br />structed as to the location and use of fire-fighting equipment, <br />which is located in each section. The following equipment <br />is located in each section: <br />(a) Self rescuers for each miner as per 75:1714-2 <br />(b) Two portable fire extinguishers (20 pounders - dry) <br />(c) 240 pounds of rock dust (in sacks) <br />(d) Water lines to each section to be equipped with enough <br />fire hose to reach each working face <br />Water lines and fire hoses will be located every 300 ft. with <br />valve outlets. Face b uses responsible for each mining work <br />shift will acquaint each employee on the use of fire fighting <br />• equipment, location of equipment, and self rescuers. <br />Face bosses will designate which men will remain and help combat <br />fire and which men are to proceed with the evacuation plan and <br />travel to surface. <br />All miners not required for fire fighting duties will evacuate <br />in an orderly manner along their designated escape routes. <br />Utility men employed in other areas of the mine will exit along <br />known escapeways in accordance to the evacuation plan. If it <br />is necessary to detour through a return air passage, the men <br />will get in and get out as expeditiously as possible. Self <br />rescuers will be used if necessary. <br />3) Imrnediately upon notification of a fire, the mine superintendent <br />or designated man in charge will assemble outside personnel and <br />begin to load fire fighting supplies and equipment onto the <br />designated mobile equipment.
