• Sedimentation Pond
The sedimentation pond for the planned surface support facilities area
is shown on the Drainage and Sediment Control Plan Map (Map 6). The
design of this sediment pond is included in the Section known as Ponds,
Impoundments and Diversions, found in Section 2.05.3.
~/~--~--
Construction of the sediment pond will be conducted in the near future.
Exhaust Fan
An exhaust fan will be located on the portal pad of the Peacock Portals
area. This fan will be used to provide ventilation for the underground
mine workings.
Access Roads
• The planned access road for Peacock Portals, is shown on the Drainage
and Sediment Control Plan hlap (Map 6).
Ponds. Impoundments, and Diversions
To control runoff and protection surface water quality, Sunbelt will
construct several diversion ditches and a sedimentation pond. The
Drainage and Sediment Control Plan Map (Map 6) shows the location of the
sediment pond and diversion structures. The designs and specifications
are presented in Exhibit 11, Drainage and Sediment Control Plan.
A theoretical detention time of 24 hours has been used in the design of
the sedimentation pond so that all runoff occurring as a result of the
10-year, 24-hour precipitation event will be treated to produce a total
of suspended solids (TSS) concentration less than or equal to 30
milligrams per liter. The pond is designed to provide storage far the
inflow entering the pond as a result of a 10-year, 24-hour precipitation
. event.
2.05-17
