AL-93-009 7'14.34 <br />USE SUBJECT TO SPECIAL REVIEW <br />MINERAL RESOURCE EXTRACTION <br />RAYMOND AND ROBERT DELLACROCE <br />A request by Raymond and Robert Dellacroce for Use Subject to Special <br />Review approval to establish a 14.6-acre mineral resource extraction <br />operation (gravel pit) with a 2.4-acre detention pond and 3.0-acre haul <br />road in the proposed A-35 (Agricultural) District. The tract is a part of a <br />larger 722-acre parcel, located north of the Air Force Academy, west of <br />Interstate 25, and south of the proposed Forest Lakes development, in <br />the northwest portion of EI Paso County. Tax Schedule #71000-00-256. <br />APPLICABLE RESOLUTIONS <br />Approval Page 11 <br />Disapproval Page 12 <br />~~ <br />PUBLIC NOTICE: The property was posted on June 25, 1993. <br />PUBLIC NOTIFICATION: The Planning Department re-notified adjoining property <br />owners of the applicant's intent on June 17, 1993. Under the expanded notice <br />procedure of the Land Development Code property owners within 1,500 feet of <br />the mining permit area were notified. <br />Of the fourteen (14) separate owners notified, three (3) responded in favor, two <br />(2) with no opinion, and two (2) opposed. Those opposed expressed concern <br />regarding property value, incompatibility, traffic, environmental damage, and <br />adverse aesthetics. <br />A statement of non-opposition was submitted, signed by thirty-eight (38) <br />residents of the immediate area, representing twenty-four (24) separate <br />addresses. <br />LEGAL PUBLICATION: The proposed Use Subject to Special Review was published <br />along with a map of the site in The Tribune on April 29, 1993, and June 10, <br />1993, in accordance with the requirements of Section 2, B.t.a.2) of the EI Paso <br />County Land Develooment Code. <br />cJ <br />~, <br />
