• Rill and Gully Plan <br />This rill and gully plan is submitted to correct any erosion problems associated with the <br />property. The plan contains two parts: <br />1) Long Term Monitoring <br />2) Remedial Action <br />This plan is developed in accordance with the CMLRD's policy on management of rills and <br />gullies. <br />Long Term Monitoring <br />This section of the plan provides a program of regular monitoring of the Chimney Rock <br />Mine for rill and gully problem areas. This information is recorded to provide input for <br />development of a mitigation plan for rills and gullies. The remedial action section provides <br />the steps to repair problem areas. <br />1) Areas will be inspected on a regular basis, after spring runoff, and following <br />major precipitation events. Problem areas will be recorded and mapped to <br />maintain an inventory. <br />2) A mitigation plan will be submitted to the State for the inventoried problem <br />• areas annually during the month of July. This plan will describe the problem <br />area (s), mitigations proposed, and schedule. A copy of the inventory map <br />will also be included. <br />3) The State will be notified of the start date anticipated to be September 15th <br />prior to work beginning. The starting date may be modified based on field <br />conditions, amount of maintenance work required, weather, etc. The Division <br />will be notified of any changes as they are required. Prior to starting work, <br />the operator evil] make every effort to incorporate any comments resulting <br />from review of the mitigation plan into the repair work and schedule. The <br />State will be notified upon completion of the work. <br />Remedial Action <br />This section covers the correction of rills and gullies based on inspections performed under <br />the long term monitoring section of the plan. The steps for remedial action are: <br />1) Identify rill and gully areas to assess the need for regrading contour furrows to <br />eliminate low spots and subsequent breaching of dikes. <br />• 2.05-13 <br />
